COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 L74 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.
It is incumbent on the employer to identify what the level of risk is for their working environment and their responsibility to decide what the most appropriate training is based on that risk. A risk calculator exists that employers and organisations can use to help them identify what is adequate for their needs.
The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by enabling them to refresh the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations. It is designed to help maintain skills and keep up to date with any changes to first aid procedures. The purpose of this qualification is to refresh the first aid skills and knowledge of qualified first aiders and emergency first aiders in the workplace.
