Alan Patterson – Trainer / Instructor

About Alan Patterson

I have been an officer in the British Fire Service for 30 years. Although the majority of my career has been operational, I was also the Deputy training centre manager for 5 years and responsible for the planning and delivery of many training courses.

I currently regularly deliver Road Traffic Instructor courses and also Heavy Vehicle Rescue instructor courses to National and International personnel.

I am also an assessor/trainer for the United Kingdom Rescue Organisation for the past 15 years and during this time I have assessed both Command and Technical aspects of rescue at regional and national levels. In addition, for the last 7 years I have been a World Rescue Organisation assessor and have assessed at three world challenges in Germany, London and Brazil.

I have developed and trained rescue personnel throughout the world in rescue techniques to decrease the injuries and deaths on the road from RTC’s. I have taken part in several projects throughout the world to attempt to reach this aim. I have also worked in projects in Ghana, Serbia and Ireland and also took part in a strategic mission to Nigeria.

“I have always endeavoured to learn from my fellow professionals, and the experience and knowledge I have gathered over the period of my service, has enabled me to successfully develop others to achieve all emergency personnel’s aim that is to ‘prevent injury and save life’.”
